💙 A Very Special Artwork Reveal 💙

Some of you may have spotted a very special piece quietly on display today at Sign On Day at UPNA.

After sharing it in person, we’re so excited to now officially reveal our commissioned First Nations artwork for SPNC.

The artwork was created by local contemporary First Nations artist Sally Terare, a proud descendant of the Bundjalung and Butchulla Nations Peoples. Sally is well known for creating work that tells stories of connection, identity, and community, values that sit right at the heart of SPNC.

This project has been especially meaningful for our club. Sally has a personal connection to UPNA as a previous player, and throughout the commissioning process, members of our committee had the opportunity to reconnect with her through shared history and long-standing community connections, adding a deeply personal layer to this journey.

The brief we shared with Sally focused on community, belonging, growth, shared journeys, and respect. Her design brings this to life through flowing water, representing movement and unity, and pathways that reflect the many journeys taken by players and families who find their way to SPNC. A strong branch with leaves symbolises growth and nurturing, while the central fish and net respectfully acknowledge St Peter and the foundations of our club.

Figures gathering together represent inclusiveness and belonging, and the open hands at the top of the artwork are a gesture of respect, acknowledgement, and welcome to all who come under the SPNC banner.

This artwork will become a meaningful part of our club identity and will be incorporated into our official uniforms, as well as used across club branding and communications, so it can be worn, shared, and understood with pride by our players and community.

A huge thank you to Sally for sharing her story, talent, and culture with SPNC. We’re incredibly proud of this piece and what it represents 💙
